Overview

Bijutox is a Korean botulinum toxin type A injectable for aesthetic use; distributor listings attribute it to Maypharm Co., Ltd. and describe a vacuum-dehydration (rather than lyophilisation) manufacturing process. Public information on this export brand is limited, but the product is supplied as a 100 unit vial of Clostridium botulinum toxin type A intended for professional wrinkle treatment.

How it works

Botulinum toxin type A binds to presynaptic cholinergic nerve terminals and cleaves the SNAP-25 protein, blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. This temporarily relaxes the injected muscle and reduces dynamic wrinkling. The effect is reversible as neuromuscular transmission recovers.

Indications

  • Glabellar (frown) lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow's feet
  • Other moderate-to-severe dynamic facial wrinkles

Benefits

  • Standardised 100U dosing
  • Vacuum-drying positioned for product stability

Composition

Clostridium botulinum toxin type A, 100 units per vial, with human serum albumin (approx. 0.5 mg) and sodium chloride (approx. 0.9 mg) as excipients per distributor specifications; stated potency range approximately 87-125%. Presented as a white to pale-yellow dried substance in a clear vial.

Usage & handling

Reconstitute the dried powder with preservative-free 0.9% sterile saline before injection. As it is vacuum-dehydrated, the vial contents may appear as only a thin film; the full dose dissolves on reconstitution. Store refrigerated at 2-8C; for trained practitioners only.
