Overview
Liztox is a botulinum toxin type A injectable developed by Huons Biopharma, a subsidiary of the South Korean pharmaceutical group Huons Global, and approved by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). It is a lyophilised, high-purity type A toxin supplied in 100 and 200 unit vials for aesthetic and therapeutic use. The same product is distributed in export markets under the Hutox brand name.
How it works
Botulinum toxin type A binds to presynaptic cholinergic nerve terminals and cleaves the SNAP-25 protein, blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. This produces temporary, localised chemodenervation that relaxes the injected muscle, softening dynamic wrinkles. The effect is reversible as nerve terminals recover, typically over about 3-4 months.
