Overview

Neo-Cain Cream is a Korean topical anaesthetic containing 10.56% lidocaine, designed to numb intact skin before cosmetic injections, laser and needling procedures. It is a single-agent amide-anaesthetic cream marketed for fast, comfortable pre-procedure anaesthesia and is often noted as suitable for sensitive skin. Supplied in 30 g clinic tubes and 500 g bulk jars.

How it works

Lidocaine crosses the stratum corneum and reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in cutaneous sensory nerves, halting the conduction of pain impulses. A thick occluded layer increases skin hydration and drug penetration into the epidermis and upper dermis, producing localised numbness in the treatment field before the procedure.

Indications

  • Pre-injection anaesthesia for dermal fillers and botulinum toxin
  • Mesotherapy and injectable skin boosters
  • Microneedling and fractional needling procedures
  • Laser hair removal and laser skin treatments
  • Tattoo and permanent make-up procedures

Usage & handling

Apply a thick, even layer to intact skin and cover with occlusive film for the manufacturer-stated time before treatment. Keep within the maximum recommended surface area and contact time to limit systemic lidocaine exposure, reducing dose on thin or compromised skin. Remove fully and clean the area before any laser or other energy-based procedure. Avoid broken, irritated or infected skin; for professional use.
