Overview

Starcain Cream is a Korean topical anaesthetic containing 10.56% lidocaine, applied to intact skin before cosmetic and dermatological procedures. It is a single-agent amide-anaesthetic cream manufactured by Starpharmtec and used to reduce discomfort during needling, injection and laser work. Supplied in 500 g bulk jars for professional use.

How it works

Lidocaine diffuses through the stratum corneum and reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in cutaneous sensory nerve endings, interrupting pain-signal conduction. Applied as a thick occluded layer, the cream increases skin hydration and drug penetration into the epidermis and superficial dermis so the treatment area is numbed before the procedure begins.

Indications

  • Pre-injection anaesthesia for fillers and botulinum toxin
  • Mesotherapy and injectable skin boosters
  • Microneedling procedures
  • Laser hair removal and laser skin treatments
  • Tattoo and permanent make-up work

Usage & handling

Apply an even layer of cream to clean intact skin ahead of the procedure and occlude for the manufacturer-stated contact time. Keep within the recommended treated surface area and contact time to limit systemic lidocaine absorption, reducing dose on thin or barrier-compromised skin. Remove residue completely before any laser or energy-based procedure. Avoid broken, inflamed or infected skin; intended for professional use.
