Overview

Volassom is a calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) collagen-stimulating injectable developed by Korean regenerative-medicine company CGBIO. CaHA microspheres suspended in a carrier gel provide immediate structural support while prompting the patient's own type-I collagen over subsequent months. Note: independent sources verify Volassom as a CaHA biostimulator rather than a PLLA/PDLLA product.

How it works

CaHA microspheres (approx. 25-45 um) act as a three-dimensional scaffold in the deep dermis and subdermis. As the carboxymethylcellulose carrier gel resorbs, the microspheres trigger a controlled fibroblast response that lays down new type-I collagen; the calcium-phosphate particles are gradually metabolised while the newly formed collagen matrix persists, giving a combined immediate-and-progressive effect.

Indications

  • Volume loss and facial contouring
  • Skin laxity and loss of firmness
  • Nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Overall skin-quality decline and collagen loss

Key features

  • Dual action: immediate structural support plus progressive collagen stimulation
  • Pre-filled, ready-to-use format with no reconstitution
  • Microsphere size range approximately 25-45 um
  • Developed by CGBIO, a Korean company with long-standing apatite expertise

Benefits

  • Single product addressing both volume and skin-quality goals
  • Pre-filled presentation reduces preparation and chair time
  • Progressive, natural-looking neocollagenesis supports patient retention
  • Korean-manufactured supply for clinic and distributor sourcing

Composition

Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres (~30%) suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose carrier gel (~70%); microsphere size ~25-45 um. Supplied approximately 0.8 mL per syringe. Contains no PLLA or PDLLA.

Usage & handling

Inject into the deep dermis or subcutis; no reconstitution required as it is supplied as a pre-filled gel. Mould/massage after placement per technique.
